120 Days of Pasolini is a group exploration and selective overview of Pier Paolo Pasolini films. Please note that this will NOT be actually 120 days. We just couldn’t resist that name!
There is no expert guide for this journey, just two film lovers who invite you along, so that together we may enjoy discovering this poet, novelist, filmmaker, polemicist, journalist, activist and cultural theorist.
This journey is obviously for the Pasolini-curious; for those with an interest in, or even a basic-to-intermediate knowledge of Italian cinema; who have patience with perhaps more complex and innovative forms of film; who are open to examining and respectfully discussing the director’s politics and queerness and how those informed his work.
There are no tests or evaluations. Ideally the goal is for the participating film fan to gain an awareness of Pasolini’s work, the context in which he created, his influences, thematic preoccupations, authorial signature, and legacy.
Participants will view the movie of the month, read/view some suggested material, consider and then discuss either through forum and/or a call, the film and some subject mentioned above.
This is a free journey. Register below and join us to learn about Pasolini’s Cinema of Poetry.

Nice! Looking forward to having you. Kent has posted some interesting tidbits in the Discord.
Hi David, we’re thrilled to have you along for the ride! I’m guessing this isn’t your first time diving into Pasolini’s films? Looking forward to hearing your insights and perspectives!
I’ve recorded three about Pasolini films over the past few years, including Mamma Roma, The Decameron, and The Canterbury Tales. I also did a brief TikTok review about A Violent Life (based on a PPP novel) after receiving a promo copy from Kino Lorber, earlier this year or maybe it was last year. And I’ve watched all of his films at least once, though I haven’t gone through all the supplements in the Criterion box set. So yes, I’m familiar with his work! 🙂
Now I’m wondering why I have two different profile pics on this site! The bearded one is the most recent.
So nice to have you here, for absolute Pasolini beginners like myself this is shaping up to be a wonderful journey, can’t wait!
